Frequently Asked Questions

  • Relational psychotherapy is a powerful, effective model for working with individuals who suffer from chronic emotional, psychological, and/or relational distress. We didn’t become who we are in a vacuum and it’s hard to heal in a vacuum. Within the safe therapeutic relationship we build, we can look at whatever you bring in, past and present, and begin to make sense of it together.

  • Together we will delve into what you bring into the session: how you’re feeling at that moment, experiences from your past; whatever you’re moved to bring in to look at together. I’m currently only offering virtual therapy, so we will meet online through a secure video platform and I’ll provide you the link for our meeting before our session. You’ll need a private space (with a strong internet connection!) where you feel comfortable for our sessions so that you can speak freely.

All of my client work is done under supervision by a Registered Psychotherapist/senior faculty member of the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy (TIRP). I am also a student member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP) and am governed by their ethical standards.

  • As a student therapist, my rate is $120 per 50 minute session. I acknowledge that systemic financial barriers can impact one’s access to therapy and I may have low-cost and sliding scale pricing options available. I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone consultation in order for us to see if we feel like it’s a good therapeutic fit. Weekly sessions are recommended.

Session fees are requested within 24 hours of your appointment. Payments can be made via e-transfer. Some extended health benefit plans may include psychotherapy services by a Registered Psychotherapist and I can provide you with the appropriate information for you to submit a claim if this applies to you.

My practice is currently accepting new clients at this time so please reach out if you’d like to talk about potentially working together.

  • This depends on your situation, needs, and goals. Relational psychotherapy is not a quick fix and requires a longer commitment to create enduring change. It will take time to build our relationship together and grow our mutual understanding of your experiences.

  • Yes. Appointments can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the session time for no charge. This allows me enough time to offer the spot to another client who may need it.

My fee for a missed session or late cancellation is the full session rate if we can’t find another time to meet in the same week.

Keep in mind that my availability is limited, and I may not be able to put you in a new time slot in the same week but I’ll do my best to be able to find a time to meet because sometimes things do come up.

  • Best way to get in touch with me is via the contact form on this site; I do my best to reply to emails within 2 business days and I appreciate your patience! I run a paperless practice, so before our first session, I will send you online forms which we can discuss when we meet. My invoices and receipts are also sent electronically as well.

let’s figure it out together.
