About

Hi, I’m Anaïs.

i know what it’s like to begin.
take as much space as you need.

Thanks for taking some time to get to know more about me and my practice. I am currently in my final year of training at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy (TIRP)—a rigorous graduate psychotherapy program accredited by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am also a member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP). I am currently supervised by a TIRP faculty member.

this is your space.

Sometimes everything can feel like too much. How do we carry everything that’s happened to us and keep going? How do we process who we were and what we’ve experienced at the same time that we’re trying to grow towards the future? I will help you hold it all as we work through things.

My approach is guided by you: the client. Together we will co-create a space that feels safe and expansive, for you to explore at your own pace. My aim is to work authentically and inclusively with you through an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, class-conscious lens that is trans, queer and gender non-conforming positive. Everyone is welcome and I invite you to show up just as you are.

I’m someone who has struggled to find and create my place in the world and I want to help you create a safe space where you can do the same. You don’t have to do this work alone.

To love oneself is hard work. But I think it becomes harder when you realize that you’re actually—at least, in my case—required to love multiple versions of yourself that show up without warning throughout a day, throughout a week, throughout a month, throughout a life.

how i got here.

Like many people, I live at the intersection of many identities: queer, fat, Latinx, diasporic, femme, disabled, neurodivergent. These identities have shaped my life’s path and place in the world, and offered me the chance to connect with others in community as well as myself in so many different ways over the years. Most importantly, they help me hold space for wherever you’re coming from.

Previously, I worked as a writer and editor in the publishing industry for over a decade. This career combined with my own experience of personal therapy led me to realize that my biggest passion was communicating with others and helping them on their own journeys of self-knowledge.

In my personal time, I enjoy painting, knitting, cooking, attempting home DIY projects, weightlifting and taking long and little walks around Toronto, where I live with my cat.

let’s figure it out together.
